Legislative Representation - MDA is your voice on dental issues in Montana government. MDA lobbyists are proactive at the Montana Legislature, Board of Dentistry, and other state regulatory bodies.
Recent activity has included defeating efforts in 2011 by hygienists and denturists to pass bills to give them separate regulatory authority outside the Board of Dentistry. In essence , fragmenting regulation of dental care.
For 2013, MDA has a bill prohibiting insurers form including pay caps on non-covered services in provider contracts.
MDA will unveil a new advocacy website this fall to make it easy for members to become involved as grassroots lobbyists.
